RM Sotheby’s, the prominent auction house known for its collector car sales, is set to return to Munich’s Motorworld for its annual sale on November 25. This announcement comes on the heels of its successful inaugural Munich auction last year, which not only garnered widespread attention but also achieved record-breaking sales.
Motorworld, recognized as one of Europe’s primary centers for car culture, will once again play host to the event, providing a platform for showcasing an exquisite array of vehicles from various eras. Early consignments for the event already feature breathtaking models including the iconic 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, valued between €1,200,000 and €1,500,000. This particular Gullwing, known for its timeless red paintwork over tan leather interior, comes with a two-piece fitted luggage set, a spare set of steel wheels, and evidence of previous restoration efforts. As a true classic, the 300 SL is a staple at international tours and rallies, cementing its status as a prized possession for any collector.
Another noteworthy vehicle slated for the Munich sale is the 2004 AMG-Mercedes C-Klasse DTM, estimated to fetch between €475,000 and €575,000. With a history steeped in competition, this vehicle, one of only four C-Klasse DTM chassis produced by AMG for the 2004 DTM season, has been previously raced by renowned driver Jean Alesi. This particular model has secured two pole positions and a podium finish, eventually ranking 7th in the 2004 DTM standings.
For enthusiasts with a preference for more recent models, the 2011 Lexus LFA is a prime pick. This supercar, known for its extraordinary V-10 engine developed in collaboration with Yamaha, is a rare find. The model on offer is one of just 44 left-hand-drive LFAs finished in Whitest White paint, with only 6,109 kilometers registered. With no reserve on its listing, it’s expected to draw between €500,000 and €600,000 at the auction.
German-market Car Specialist Marcus Görig expressed anticipation for the upcoming event, noting the diversity of already consigned cars creates an exhilarating prospect for this year’s sale. Following last year’s incredible success, the RM Sotheby’s team is eagerly preparing for another remarkable event to conclude their European sales calendar in late November.
Among the other outstanding consignments is the 2010 Alfa Romeo 8C Spider, with a mere 344 kilometers clocked, and the 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series, a one-owner vehicle with only 2,351 kilometers. Both vehicles are estimated to be in the range of €250,000 – €350,000.
