Dotted Devotion: The Architecture of Dark Femininity

POET LAB delivered a controlled meditation on modern womanhood this season, exploring femininity through a lens that felt both introspective and assertive. Polka dots emerged as the defining motif, scattered across sheer layers and sculpted silhouettes that shaped the body with intention. Nets and translucent fabrics revealed flashes of skin, while sharp leather constructions introduced structure and authority. The interplay between softness and strength created a dark, considered mood that felt quietly powerful rather than overtly theatrical.

Drawing subtle references from the elongated fluidity of the 1970s and the pared-back sensuality of the 1990s, the collection redefined familiar eras with contemporary precision. Silhouettes were modernized through asymmetry, 3D volume, and architectural draping, transforming nostalgic codes into something distinctly present. POET LAB’s woman is visually aware, spiritually grounded, and culturally conscious, claiming space not through excess, but through form, texture, and deliberate design.

I’m Divina, a recent Fashion Business graduate from Istituto Marangoni London with a passion for editorial fashion and luxury brand management. For me, fashion is the ultimate form of storytelling, where words and visuals come together to create lasting narratives. With a love for weaving creativity into both strategy and style, I bring an eye for detail and a voice for expression, think of me as London’s very own Carrie Bradshaw in the making.
