“The March That Moves Like Silk”
Ramadan has a way of making everything more intentional—the way the world slows just before Maghrib, the way a sip of water becomes a moment of gratitude, the way a simple shake at suhoor feels like an anchor in the early hours of the day. I’ve been feeling it more than ever this year—the pause, the reflection, the quiet rewiring of what matters. Less rushing, more absorbing. Less noise, more presence.
And somehow, this issue of Gazetta moves in the same way.
March arrived with its own rhythm. Ramadan and International Women’s Day exist under the same sky this year, and instead of choosing one narrative, we embraced them both. Because if there’s anything we’ve learned, it’s that women are never just one thing. We hold faith and ambition, grace and grit, legacy and reinvention—all in the same breath.
On March 8th, we launched Gazetta’s first-ever social media cover, “2050: The Future Is Theirs,” a vision conceived by Chantal Ho-A-Hing. It’s not just an image—it’s a moment. A glimpse of the world these girls will step into and own. There’s no waiting, no asking for a seat at the table. They are the table.
Then there’s our official March cover, “Her Sacred Season.” If the first cover is about looking forward, this one is about being present. It’s rich, fluid, full of movement—the way spirituality feels, the way faith is carried not as an obligation, but as something lived. It’s Ramadan, but not as a rigid concept. It’s a rhythm, a pulse, a presence in the hands of every woman who shapes it for herself.
And inside? It’s not just pages—it’s a layered conversation.
We welcome Alina Balijja, Gazetta’s newest writer reporting from Milan, where luxury isn’t just worn—it’s understood. She makes her Gazetta debut with two striking features—one exploring the meticulous craftsmanship of Casadei and Gianvito Rossi, and another peeling back the layers of Antonio Riva’s couture, where elegance is whispered, not shouted.
But we don’t stop there—because we never do.
We step into Ramadan dressing with Mrunal Khimji, dive into Dubai’s evolving fashion scene with Sonia Haboub, and explore the intersection of identity, culture, and modest fashion with Manuela Pirola. We talk about sustainability in high fashion, the reinterpretation of Middle Eastern heritage in design, and the space where faith, creativity, and ambition meet. And there’s so much more!
Because this isn’t just a magazine. It’s not just another issue.
It’s a space where tradition and modernity don’t compete—they coexist. Where faith and self-expression don’t contradict—they build on each other. Where women don’t fit into a single definition—they redefine it every day.
So here’s to the women who fast and create, who pray and build, who honor where they’ve been while unapologetically stepping into what’s next.
This is Her Sacred Season.
This is Gazetta, March 2025.
And we’re just getting started.
