Seven Signals of What’s Next

At Fashion Scout’s Ones to Watch, seven emerging designers each unveiled tightly edited capsule collections that felt distinct yet unified by clarity of vision. Spanish designer Adolf Maldonado, now based in London, introduced Arthropoda, a study of femininity articulated through oversized leather rendered unexpectedly delicate, proving his command of line and proportion. Emma Aleksanyan of Alaska Vertige drew on the Japanese samurai code of Bushido, delivering a restrained, unisex collection where minimalist silhouettes, disciplined color choices, and intricate macramé techniques honored tradition without overpowering it. Invisible Boundaries leaned into geometry and the concept of time suspended in space, rejecting conventional silhouettes in favor of sharply constructed forms that felt architectural and forward-thinking.

Kushi Kumar, navigating between Delhi and London, centered her capsule around the cultural and emotional weight of red, transforming its heritage symbolism into modern silhouettes suited to the city’s pace. Label Astha Garg blurred the line between fashion and sensory installation, combining prints and 3D effects with immersive lighting and sound to amplify the narrative on the runway. Mad Daisy explored the versatility of a single print in Lumière de Guillaumin, inspired by French Impressionist Jean-Baptiste Armand Guillaumin, delicately integrating silk and cotton to demonstrate craftsmanship through repetition. Closing the lineup, Min-Ji Kim emphasized texture and sculptural form, layering materials and color to create tactile, dimensional pieces that felt both experimental and assured.
