Memory, Mending, Protection: QASIMI’s AW26 Thesis

Professor Ivan Allegranti is a seasoned freelance journalist and academic…
QASIMI’s Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, Memory and the House of Remembrance, explores clothing as a vessel for memory, repair, and protection.
Creative director Hoor Al-Qasimi layers, deconstructs, and mends garments to mirror how personal histories are stitched together, balancing casual wear with sharp tailoring.
Pleated shirts, utilitarian jackets, modular silhouettes, and protective capes evoke shelter and continuity.
Earthy tones meet burgundy and white, while a collaboration with artist Dala Nasser infuses textiles with natural dyes and charcoal rubbings.
The result frames clothing as emotional archaeology, to be worn, remembered, and preserved.

Professor Ivan Allegranti is a seasoned freelance journalist and academic based in Italy, with a strong foundation in law and a teaching role in Bratislava. His journey into the world of fashion began in an unlikely place, as an apprentice in a tailor’s shop. Quickly realising that his strengths lay not in the precision of the needle but in the art of storytelling, he turned his focus to chronicling the brands, artists, and visionaries who define the luxury industry. Today, he combines his legal expertise, academic insight, and narrative flair to bring depth and perspective into GAZETTA. @ivanallegranti
