Roseberry’s Schiaparelli Spring 2026: Impeccable, Yet Too Literal

Schiaparelli’s Spring 2026 Haute Couture, titled The Agony and the Ecstasy and designed by Daniel Roseberry, delivered impeccable craftsmanship yet little sense of mystery. Conceived as a dialogue of opposites, the collection leaned heavily on the maison’s familiar iconography, at times bordering on literalism and quotation.
Zoomorphic motifs, scorpions, peacocks, blowfish, appeared striking but overly explicit, leaving limited space for symbolic transformation. While the sartorial execution remained extraordinary, the overall effect felt more confirmatory than surprising, raising questions about the house’s creative momentum and its ability to truly enchant again.
