Sofia Coppola premiered her first documentary at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, showcasing longtime friend and collaborator Marc Jacobs. The film, ‘Marc by Sofia,’ explored Jacobs’ career, including his tenure as Louis Vuitton’s creative director from 1997 to 2014, as well as his personal life. Coppola, known for The Virgin Suicides and Priscilla, had previously worn Jacobs’ designs publicly and directed videos for his ‘Daisy’ fragrance campaigns, highlighting the creative synergy between filmmaker and designer.

His journey into the world of fashion began in an unlikely place, as an apprentice in a tailor’s shop.
