A Glimpse into Dutch Superyachts
Hello, I'm Vans, mother of two boys (1 and 7…
Superyachts are the epitome of luxury and craftsmanship. While their sleek exteriors and impressive dimensions often steal the spotlight, the interiors are just as significant. As an interior stylist, I focus on this very aspect, diving deep into the beauty and craftsmanship of the interior spaces. In this article, I will highlight the interiors of Dutch superyachts, with special attention to the creations of Van der Valk Shipyard.
There are shipbuilders worldwide who deliver stunning yachts, but my personal preference leans towards the Dutch builders. Perhaps it’s because I’m from the Netherlands myself, but I believe Dutch shipbuilders offer a unique blend of innovation, quality, and style. Their attention to detail, use of high-quality materials, and emphasis on customization make these yachts the pinnacle of their class.
Van der Valk Shipyard: A Gem in Dutch Yacht Building
One of the shipyards that has caught my attention is Van der Valk Shipyard. Their yachts are renowned for their timeless designs and uncompromising quality. Two models I’ve closely examined are the Lady Lene and the Flybridge Valencia.
The Interior of Lady Lene
The Lady Lene is a stunning custom-built yacht from Van der Valk. Delivered in 2022, it was also the winner of the 2022 BOAT World Superyacht Awards. For me, it remains one of the most impressive yachts, combining luxury and innovation in a truly unique way. While the exterior, with its modern and stylish lines, is certainly striking, the real beauty lies within.
The interior of Lady Lene is a masterpiece of modern design, with a warm and elegant ambiance. Upon entering, you are welcomed by the inviting atmosphere of the spacious salon. Large windows allow an abundance of natural light, bringing the maritime surroundings indoors. The colour scheme is understated yet refined, blending neutral tones with accents of rich wood and metal details.
The living room exudes luxury and comfort, with custom-made furniture that fits the space perfectly. Soft fabrics and high-quality materials, such as velvet and leather, give the room a cozy yet exclusive feel.
The dining area and fully equipped kitchen are equally stylish, combining modern and classic elements to create a timeless design. The sleeping quarters are another highlight. Each cabin is spacious and features king-size beds, elegant lighting, and subtle luxury finishes. The use of wood and light colours creates a serene and relaxing environment, ideal for long journeys at sea. The master suite is a tranquil oasis with stunning views and an ensuite bathroom that could rival those of five-star hotels.

The Interior of Flybridge Valencia
Another yacht I’d like to highlight is the Flybridge Valencia, a beautiful example of how traditional Flybridge style can be combined with modern luxury. With this yacht, Van der Valk once again demonstrates their timeless designs. Built in 2017, the Valencia still holds its own in 2024, in my opinion.
The interior of Valencia reminds me of a blend between classic English interior style and modern design. This is evident in the use of cherry wood, mahogany, blue-and-white accents, and brass details.
The spacious layout maximizes the use of natural light, creating a sense of openness and freedom even when you’re indoors. The living room of Valencia has a modern yet welcoming feel, with large, comfortable seating areas and a clean finish. Light tones and natural materials create a soothing atmosphere. The kitchen is equipped with high-end appliances, seamlessly integrated into the design
The sleeping quarters offer unparalleled comfort, with king-size beds, elegant lighting, and beautifully crafted custom wardrobes. The interior strikes a perfect balance between functionality and refined elegance, making Valencia a true home at sea.

Why I Choose Dutch Yachts
It’s not just the beauty of the interiors that draws me to Dutch yachts, but also the vision behind the designs. There’s a strong focus on functionality, without sacrificing aesthetics. The designs feel thoughtful and intuitive, with every element contributing to the comfort and experience of the guests.

What's Your Reaction?
Hello, I'm Vans, mother of two boys (1 and 7 years old). Two years ago I founded MoVa Wonen, which arose from my hobby that got out of hand: styling homes for people with limited financial resources who still want a stylish living environment. My interest expanded to real estate, where I discovered that you can offer homes to investors without sellers paying sales costs. With MoVa Wonen I now focus on finding properties for people who, for various reasons, cannot or do not want to pay sales costs and want to get rid of their home quickly. Within the real estate world, I noticed that there is little attention in the Netherlands for customers with a non-Western background. Although MoVa Wonen is still in its infancy, I hope to contribute to growth opportunities and equal opportunities for people with diverse backgrounds in the real estate market in the future.
