Ferragamo SS26: Jazz Age Reframed

Ivan Allegranti

Maximilian Davis returned to Ferragamo with a collection staged in the same Milan palazzo where he debuted three years ago. This season, he drew on the house’s 1920s Africana and Jazz Age connections, channeling the spirit of flapper culture, the Harlem Renaissance, and Josephine Baker.

The runway featured modernized flapper dressessilk georgette skirts and slit blouses spliced with leopard and cuttlefish prints, alongside lace inserts and satin-bow mules that whispered of boudoir glamour. Masculine codes cut through womenswear in the form of cummerbunds, sashes, and tailored details, while zoot-suit proportions shaped soft-shouldered blazers. Footwear remained pivotal: cage pumps and embroidered satin mules paid homage to Ferragamo’s historic innovations.
