Madrid welcomes Tissa Fontaneda’s second flagship store

On Thursday, March 14th, 2024, TISSA FONTANEDA inaugurated her second flagship store in Madrid’s Salamanca district. Tissa herself warmly greeted and engaged with a wide array of guests, including socialites, entepreneurs and brand enthusiasts, marking the beginning of a new milestone for the brand. Notable attendees included: Sofia Palazuelo (the future Duchess of Alba), Pilar Arce, Ana García-Siñeriz and Martina Jaudenes.

Only five months after the opening of her London flagship store, Tissa sought to strengthen the brand’s presence in Madrid, where its origins lie. The evening saw vibrant discussions amongs prominent individuals, accompanied by Tissa’s European clientele and committed team, united in paying tribute to the designer.

Tissa stated: “It was a great pleasure and honour to finally and officially open the doors to our new home in Madrid and welcome our guests and friends of the brand. Madrid is the city that allowed me to wish for and eventually start TISSA FONTANEDA. I am proud to live and have an official physical presence in a city that has blossomed into one of the most important European centers of culture, art and “savoir vivre”.

The new women’s Spring-Summer Collection was presented, including leather goods, accessories and an expanding ready-to-wear line, now exclusively offered at the Madrid and London boutiques. The event also showcased the men’s accessories capsule collection, introduced in response to increasing demand, enriching Tissa’s diverse offerings.

About TISSA FONTANEDA

Born in Munich, Germany, Tissa Fontaneda spent most of her life abroad. She earned her P.H.D. in Literature and Philosophy at the University of Turin, Italy, after which she relocated to Paris to pursue her long-held passion for fashion. Her professional journey started at Daniel Swarovski, where she served as a design assistant to Rosemarie Le Gallais and Hervé Leger. Five years later, Tissa made the move to Madrid, where she joined the esteemed Spanish luxury brand Loewe: here the Thierry Mugler handbag collections were created.

This helped Tissa gain invaluable experience in craftsmanship and handbag manifacturing from some of Europe’s most renowned artisans. After Loewe’s acquisition by the LVMH group, Tissa was appointed by president Yves Carcelle as the Head of Production for Loewe accessories under Narciso Rodriguez. Further to her work for Loewe, she collaborated with other prestigious brands, such as Cartier, Dunhill, Connolly and Louis Vuitton.

In 2010, with the launch of her eponymous label “classic luxury with a modern twist”, she blended her crativity with her expertise in luxury accessories. Today, TISSA FONTANEDA stands out as one of the most captivating luxury handbag labels in the contemporary market. Her designs have garnered outstanding acclaim in high-end boutiques worldwide.
