Celebrating History, Influencing the Future with Eloquent Conversations and Exclusive Dinners at Bourdon House

This autumn, dunhill, the distinguished British luxury menswear brand, is collaborating with Frieze Masters in a cultural partnership of significance. This synergy marks the anticipated return of the Frieze Masters Talks programme to the fair — a beloved feature that has been absent since 2019.

Renowned for providing contemporary insights into a vast spectrum of art history, Frieze Masters showcases a collection of timeless pieces spanning various eras. From ancient masterpieces and venerable Old Masters to the definitive icons of the 20th Century, the fair is a treasure trove for art aficionados.

On October 6th, the launch of this dynamic partnership was celebrated with a panel discussion and a lavish dinner at Bourdon House, dunhill’s flagship boutique nestled in the heart of Mayfair. Esteemed guests, including Nathan Clements-Gillespie, Dr. Nicholas Cullinan, Tim Marlow, and Jamie Fobert, all donned in dunhill attire, partook in the evening’s intellectual and gastronomical delights.

Tim Marlow, the Director of the Design Museum, chaired the inaugural panel, facilitating a rich dialogue between Dr. Nicholas Cullinan, visual artist Shirin Neshat, and architect Jamie Fobert. The discussions offered a glimpse into dunhill’s forward-thinking vision as the brand celebrates its 130th anniversary, designing for the consumers of tomorrow while respecting its heritage.

The scheduled talks under the dunhill x Frieze Masters Talks partnership are as follows:

Wednesday, October 11th, 3pm: Thomas J Price in conversation with Dr Gus Casely-Hayford (Director, V&A East)
• Thursday, October 12th, 12pm: Arlene Shechet in conversation with Sheena Wagstaff (Former Chair of Modern and Contemporary Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York)
• Thursday, October 12th, 3pm: Rachel Whiteread in conversation with Briony Fer (Art Historian)
• Friday, October 13th, 3pm: Maggi Hambling and Sarah Lucas in conversation with Louisa Buck (Contributing Editor and Contemporary Art Correspondent, The Art Newspaper)
• Saturday, October 14th, 3pm: Mandy El Sayegh in conversation with Flavia Frigeri (Curator, National Portrait Gallery) and Valerie Cassel Oliver (Sydney and Frances Lewis Family Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts)

These conversations will be hosted in dunhill’s elegantly designed lounge at the Frieze Masters fair, and all will be recorded and released as podcasts to reach a broader audience, starting in November.

dunhill, with a history of 130 years, epitomizes exquisite craftsmanship and design. The brand, offering a complete lifestyle range from refined tailoring to luxury leather goods, reflects the innovative spirit of its founder, Alfred Dunhill.
