FV: In January 2023, you became the CEO of Casadei as the brand celebrated its 65th anniversary. What does it mean for you to be part of this family business and heritage?

AC: I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and for the support my family has given me throughout my career. I feel fortunate to work alongside a talented team of loyal individuals who I consider family.

FV: As the daughter of Creative Director Cesare Casadei and granddaughter of founders Quinto and Flora, how did you know this was your path, and how are you adding your contemporary touch to the brand?

AC: Growing up, I spent a lot of time at the company, as it was the best way to be with my family. Being immersed in shoes and witnessing the passion and creativity of my grandfather and father has always inspired me. I realized their work was extraordinary, and having them as mentors has been invaluable. During university, I felt we had a compelling story to share, especially in the digital realm, and my father encouraged me to trust my instincts. My challenge now as general manager is to grow the brand internationally while staying true to our core values and exploring new platforms.

FV: What are your 3 favourite pieces from the SS 2025 collection that reflect the Casadei heritage and why? 

AC: The SS25 collection designed by my father, Cesare Casadei, is a tribute to women’s freedom, innovation, and the continuous pursuit of experimentation. It is a collection full of colour, reflecting the DNA of Casadei. If I were to highlight three standout pieces, I would begin with the CAS 25 – a true masterpiece. Its metallic fabric in shades like mint, baby blue, paprika, and gold, paired with crystals, makes this model a wearable jewel, available in multiple heights of our signature Blade heel. Another favorite of mine is the Big Pink, where the pearl takes center stage. In particular, the Big Pink slingback perfectly captures a balance of sophistication and femininity.

Craftsmanship has always been a cornerstone of our brand, and the Big Horn exemplifies this. Our artisans – some with over 60 years of experience – meticulously handcraft and paint the cylindrical heel or wedge of this model. The heel, framed in brass, is inspired by a vintage bracelet that has aged gracefully over time, creating a look that is both storied and captivating.

FV: What would you say is the boldest design Casadei has ever created?
AC: My father’s lifelong dream was to design a product so distinctive that it could be recognized without a logo. The creation of our iconic Blade heel embodies this vision -it’s the result of extensive research, experimentation, and continuous innovation. The Blade, an aluminum heel as sharp as a knife, represents seduction, femininity, and freedom.

For months, my father tirelessly pursued the perfect balance to ensure the heel could support the shoe, but the journey was far from easy. His persistence and determination led him, after many trials, to discover the ideal formula.

Now, over 11 years later, the Blade has become our signature product and one of our top sellers.

FV: What does it feel like to share a beautiful Italian shoe legacy with the world?

AC: It’s an honour and a significant responsibility to carry on my family’s legacy. Our DNA – Made in Italy and continuous innovation – sets us apart in the international market. Expanding the Casadei brand has always been a strategic priority for us. We’re committed to pushing creative boundaries, all while preserving the craftsmanship and quality that define who we are.

FV: Casadei is now available globally and has established a strong presence in the Middle East. Who is the Casadei woman, and how has she evolved over time?

AC: My father creates for women who exude strength, confidence, and sophistication. The Casadei woman embodies elegance, sensuality, and thrives in the spotlight. Our exclusive designs are objects of desire, capturing the attention of influential women such as Beyoncé, Cara Delevingne, Jennifer Lopez, Olivia Wilde, and Jessica Chastain, to name a few.

FV: What do ‘transformation’ and ‘innovation’ mean to you in the shoe industry, and how are you fostering that change at Casadei?

AC: For our company, which today boasts over 66 years of history, innovation and transformation are the fundamental principles of development. It is a story of generations succeeding one another, where first my grandparents, then my father, and now I carry forward an important heritage, adapting to the changes in the market and the needs of consumers.

The key is to maintain a good balance between preserving traditions and the innovation that allows the company to evolve, ensuring that we keep our roots alive while exploring new opportunities and facing the challenges of the future.
