“Oh Baby” – It’s Healthy, Homemade, and Heavenly Tasty!
Just starting solids with your little one? Wondering what to cook? How about a healthy and delicious meal that takes only 20 minutes to prepare? Read on!
My baby girl Chloé adores homemade meals far more than the ready-made options from the supermarket. She loves the richer flavors, and honestly, I do too. So, I’ve turned to *mompreneurs in the baby food market who share easy-to-make, nutritious recipes that the whole family can enjoy.
Meet Natalie from the US, known as @eatingwithzion on Instagram, with over 200k followers. It’s easy to see why. Her frozen banana topped with yogurt peanut butter cream is one of Chloé’s favorites.

Natalie’s inspiration comes from her mother. “Growing up, my mom always made healthy homemade meals for us. We rarely ate out, so my inspiration definitely stems from there, as well as my passion for health and nutrition, and my desire to feed our children the best we can.”
In Switzerland, food scientist Jovana, @super.mini.eats, draws inspiration from her children. She creates tasty and nutritious meals that are also easy to make. I’m a huge fan of her refreshing Ice Pops, perfect for the whole family.

Jovana’s academic background also influences her recipes. “I’m consistently inspired by the incredible benefits of natural whole foods. Every market visit or grocery trip sparks new ideas. I also draw inspiration from other digital creators and adapt those ideas to fit my vision and values.”
I felt like I’d stepped into heaven when I bought “Baby Food Bible” by Australian authors Lauren and Julia. Their beautifully photographed recipes create an instant appetite, and their advice on starting solids builds confidence.
Julia & Lauren With Their Kids
Lauren and Julia explain their Amazon bestseller: “We focus on a whole foods diet, using accessible ingredients to create simple, nutritionally dense recipes even fussy toddlers will enjoy. Our book covers everything from starting solids to nourishing toddlers, simplifying mealtimes for everyone.”

I admire these mompreneurs who balance motherhood with creating recipes, filming, and writing books. It’s impressive multitasking.
Jovana integrates her work into family life. “I started this journey for better work-life balance. I involve my kids in grocery shopping, cooking, and even filming. They enjoy being part of the process, which makes it fun. I schedule content creation during their naps or in the evenings.”
For Natalie, it’s more challenging. “Sometimes, I can’t finish creating because my baby needs me. I only get things done when my husband or mom helps. Support is necessary, and I’m grateful to have it.”
Engaging with their audience is also crucial. Julia and Lauren’s community has been overwhelmingly positive. One feedback said, “Honestly, its the best family cookbook i have ever come across and I have bought a lot!! It’s been a game changer for starting my third child on solids, i am so much more confident now with the decisions I’m making for him, and my toddler and 6 year old and actually eating the food i am making for them, and us! You have nailed it with the whole family. We couldn’t be more grateful for this resource, thank you thank you.“
Jovana shared a touching story from a mother of an autistic child who saw remarkable improvements in her son’s behavior and eating habits after switching to Jovana’s whole food recipes.
Looking ahead, these mompreneurs have exciting plans. Julia and Lauren aim to introduce their concepts in daycares and are working on a new book. Jovana aims to collaborate with health organizations, daycares and retailers to promote healthier snacks and reduce food waste. She also continues to guide parents around the globe with her e-book ‘How to Feed Your Baby & Support Their Immunity, Gut Health, and Brain Development’.
Natalie hopes to return to college to become a pediatric nutritionist. She wants to show moms that cooking healthy, delicious meals at home doesn’t have to be hard. She is right, because for tomorrow’s menu, I’m planning Julie and Lauren’s Chickpea Pancakes for breakfast, Natalie’s avocado pasta for dinner, and Jovana’s coconut milk/fruity ice pops for dessert. Bon appétit!
