But what is “Biophilic design“? Biophilic Design is a design vision in which you want people to feel as connected as possible to the ecological world around them. This is done by applying as many natural elements as possible in the interior. There are 3 ways to apply this: 

1. Bring nature indoors, by bringing many plants into your home, but also by adding other natural elements, such as creating more daylight in the house, providing a view, adding water or fire.

2. Imitating nature, by using materials that are made of wood or resemble it. Think of rough wooden surfaces, natural stone. Other natural materials can also be used in the upholstery. For example soft wool, flax and refined linen. They form a symphony of warmth and comfort, and creating an inviting atmosphere in the room. If there is no space or budget for living plants, images with plants and flower prints are a nice alternative.

3. Create a view and overview, for example by adding large windows.

And the soft, black colour, called “Cracked Pepper” is also one of the big interior colour trends of summer 2024. From a pepper-coloured sofa to a lamp in the bold trend colour. This strong shade of black fits (almost) into any interior.
